UP man proposes friend for marriage after deceiving him into sex-change surgery

In Muzaffarnagar district, Uttar Pradesh, a shocking incident unfolded when a 20-year-old man awoke in a hospital to discover he had undergone sex reassignment surgery without his consent.

Allegedly, his friend, Omprakash Pal, orchestrated the procedure with the collusion of medical staff at Begrajpur Medical College.

The victim, from Sanjak village, was misled into visiting the hospital for a supposed routine medical check-up on June 3, where he was sedated and the surgery was performed.

The victim recounted waking up to find his friend informing him that he was now a woman and that they would have to marry.

Omprakash allegedly threatened the victim with violence against his family and the seizure of family property if he did not comply.

This coercion stemmed from a two-year period of threats and harassment by Omprakash. The victim expressed devastation about the betrayal, stating he went to the hospital trusting his friend.

Local police arrested Omprakash Pal after protests led by the Bharatiya Kisan Union and its leader, Shyam Pal, demanded justice.

The protests took place outside the medical facility, calling for action against both the friend and the involved hospital staff.

Authorities, including Khatauli circle officer Ramashish Yadav, have commenced an investigation, assuring that all parties involved will face legal scrutiny to uncover the full extent of this grievous violation.

Omprakash had planned to relocate them to Lucknow for a new start, further complicating the victim's coerced new identity.

The police and the Bharatiya Kisan Union are working together to ensure justice is served and to support the victim through this traumatic ordeal.
