In an inspiring display of fortitude, 17-year-old Priya from Bareilly has surpassed insurmountable challenges to excel in her Class 12 Uttar Pradesh Board exams, securing a first division despite the harrowing loss of both legs and her left arm in a tragic train accident.

Declared last month, the results of the UP Board Intermediate exam unveiled Priya's exceptional accomplishment, achieved at Chandra Prakash Memorial Inter College Fatehganj West, underscoring her unwavering determination amidst profound mental and physical adversities.

Priya's life took a tragic turn on October 10, 2023, her birthday, when a confrontation with her 19-year-old stalker while returning from NEET coaching led to a horrifying ordeal. Pushed onto the train tracks, she suffered the loss of three limbs, an ordeal that captured national attention.

Responding swiftly, CM Yogi Adityanath took decisive action, suspending three police personnel, including the Station House Officer, for negligence. Priya's family received ₹5 lakh in compensation from the state government, covering her treatment costs, while the accused, Vijay Maurya, faced multiple charges.

Despite enduring months of recovery, Priya remained resolute in her pursuit of education. Studying rigorously for 5-6 hours daily amidst medical treatments, she refused to let her circumstances hinder her aspirations.

Encountering challenges during the exams, Priya sought aid from the district magistrate, who promptly arranged support from the exam center. With unwavering perseverance, Priya achieved a commendable 67% in her exams, igniting immense pride in her parents.

Looking forward, Priya envisions pursuing higher education with aspirations of becoming an IAS officer, driven by her determination to advocate for the rights of disabled women and girls, showcasing her enduring spirit in the face of adversity.
