Assam Police arrest Five for supplying SIM cards to Pakistani agents, sharing defense information with foreign embassy

Five people have been arrested in Assam for allegedly supplying SIM cards to Pakistani agents, according to police spokesperson Prasanta Bhuyan. The operation was carried out on Tuesday night based on inputs from a central agency and other sources. Bhuyan explained that around ten people from the Nagaon and Morigaon districts were suspected of fraudulently procuring SIM cards and supplying them to Pakistani agents. The items recovered from those arrested and the houses of the five absconding accused include 18 mobile phones, 136 SIM cards, one fingerprint scanner, one high-tech CPU, and some documents such as birth certificates, passbooks, and photographs. During the interrogation, it was revealed that one of the accused was using a mobile handset to share defense information with a foreign embassy. The investigation is ongoing to determine whether more people were involved in the racket. The Assam Police and various central agencies are working together to apprehend the absconding accused.
