Assam reviews COVID guidelines, children below 10 years exempted from mandatory testing on arrival.
With decline in fresh cases in Assam, the government has decided to do away with the mandatory COVID-19 testing of children below 10 years entering the state with double vaccinated guardians.
The Assam government has exempted children below 10 years of age from its mandatory Covid test guidelines for entering the state. In a notification, the health department said that mandatory Covid testing of children below 10 years of age entering Assam with double vaccinated guardians has been done away with. Fully vaccinated adults coming into the state were already exempted from compulsory testing.
The notification, however, added that "voluntary paid testing for such children shall be facilitated if the parents/ guardians so desire".
For passengers who are vaccinated with a single dose or not vaccinated and those who are symptomatic even with both the doses of vaccine shall have to undergo compulsory RT-PCR testing at their own cost on the arrival at airports, railway station, others in Assam.
Adults, who are fully vaccinated, or have taken both the doses of COVID-19 vaccines, coming to Assam are already exempted from mandatory COVID-19 testing.
