SMCH Doctors Test Positive : Again Stoking COVID-19 Re-Infection Worry

SMCH, Silchar Medical College and Hospital

Vice Principal of SMCH, Dr Bhaskar Gupta on Tuesday informed five physicians of Silchar Medical College and Hospital, Riturag Thakuria, Nodal Officer of SMCH and Dr Abhijit Dey has taken adsmission to SMCH Covid Ward while Dr. Pradipta Roy Choudhury along with Dr. Prabhahita Barua and Dr Abhijit Swami are in home isolation as they are identified as Covid positive.

The samples of the physicians have been submitted for detection of Omicron variant.

Reportedly, SMCH vice principal informed that the health conditions of the five physicians are being monitored.

Meanwhile, India reported 23 cases of Omicron variant with highest number in Maharashtra.
