Andhra Pradesh to Build Over 3,000 Hindu Temples to Propagate and Protect the Hindu Faith

The government of Andhra Pradesh has set a target to build over 3,000 Hindu temples in the state with the aim of having a temple in every village. The initiative aims to propagate and protect the Hindu faith, particularly in the localities of weaker sections. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams' Sri Vani Trust has allocated Rs 10 lakh each for the construction of temples, with 1,330 already under construction and another 1,465 added to the list. Additionally, at the request of a few legislators, 200 more will be built with the cooperation of other voluntary organizations. The construction of 978 temples is in full swing under the Endowments Department, while the works of every 25 temples have been entrusted to an assistant engineer. Rs 238 crore funds have been released from the Rs 270 crore CGF funds allocated to revive some temples and for the conduct of rituals.
