Cachar's Nirmal Dey among 17 outstanding individuals to be honored at Assam Gaurav Awards for contributing across diverse fields
In a splendid ceremony recognizing exemplary individuals, the Assam Gaurav Awards are set to honor 17 deserving recipients, each making significant contributions in diverse fields. The awardees, acknowledged for their outstanding achievements, will receive a citation, certificate, medal, and a monetary sum of 3 lakh.
The distinguished awardees include:

2. Parvati Barua (Dhubri):An Environment & Forest champion, acclaimed for her activism in animal conservation and expertise in handling human-elephant conflicts.
3. Debojit Changmai (Sivasagar): A maestro in the field of Sound Engineering, honored for his notable achievements in the realm of art and culture.
4. Drono Bhuyan (Darrang): Recognized for his mastery in OjaPali, contributing significantly to the rich cultural heritage of Assam.
5. Neelam Dutta (Biswanath): Acknowledged for his outstanding work in Agriculture, particularly in the domain of Organic Farming.
6. Anupam Deka (Darrang): A distinguished Entrepreneur and Industrialist, recognized for his notable contributions to the business landscape.
7. Soumyadeep Dutta (Dhubri): Acknowledged for his dedicated efforts in Wildlife Conservation, making a positive impact on the environment and forests.
8. Basanta Chiring Phukan (Jorhat): Honored for his progressive contributions as a Mushroom Cultivator, significantly impacting the agricultural sector.
9. Manendra Deka (Barpeta): Celebrated Craft and Bamboo Artist, recognized for his exceptional work in Handicrafts.
10. Meenakshi Chetia (Sivasagar): Acknowledged as an ASHA Worker, she has made remarkable contributions to social service.
11. Pakhila Lekhtepi (Karbi Anglong):** Recognized for her excellence as a Karbi Folk Singer, adding cultural vibrancy to the region.
12. Tenzing Bodosa (Udalguri): Commended for establishing an Elephant-Friendly Tea Estate, showcasing dedication to environmental conservation.
13. Nirmal Dey (Cachar): Honored Entrepreneur in ShitalPati, contributing significantly to the cultural and economic landscape.
14. Jecin Kumbang Pao (Dhemaji): Celebrated for expertise in Handlooms and Weaving, preserving and promoting traditional craftsmanship.
15. Mary Hassa (Tinsukia): Acknowledged for her social service as an AWC Worker, making a positive impact on community welfare.
16. Upendra Rabha (Goalpara): Celebrated Black Rice Cultivator, contributing to sustainable agriculture practices.
17. Rahul Gupta (Tinsukia): Recognized for pioneering Hydroponic Farming, showcasing innovation in agriculture.
Apart from the prestigious awards, recipients will enjoy additional privileges, including complimentary medical treatment in government hospitals with accommodation in paying cabins, where available. They will receive free lodging in State Government Circuit Houses, Guest Houses, and Assam Bhawans.
As distinguished guests, they will be regularly invited to official functions, and the Assam Government will allocate up to 2 lakh for medical expenses related to critical illnesses. Additionally, recipients are entitled to free travel in ASTC buses with a 24-hour prior notice of their proposed journey.
