Survey Reveals 38% Indians Experience Anxiety At Night Over Their Future.

According to a survey conducted by, 38% of Indians experience anxiety at night worrying about their future. The survey was done as part of the sleep awareness week which is observed from March 12 to 18.

The survey observed that the people despite going to bed early, do not wake up feeling refreshed. The proportion of women who wake up feeling refreshed has decreased by 25% from last year. This pattern has also been seen in the workplace, with 67% of women reporting feeling drowsy while at work, compared to 56% of males. Those reporting feeling sleepy while at work increased by 21% overall over the course of the year.

In the past year, more and more young people under the age of 18 have prioritised their sleep health. The research highlights an increase of 65% over last year in the number of people across age categories going to bed before 10 PM The number of children under the age of 18 who went to bed earlier than 10 PM increased by 200%, which was the biggest factor in this.

According to the report, in India, 87% of individuals use their phones before going to bed, and 78% of those aged 25 to 34 who remain up late browse social media. Despite an increase in social media usage, women have cut back on late-night binge-watching more than men have, by 40% compared to the previous year.

87% of Indians use their phones immediately before going to bed, according to the sixth edition of the Great Indian Sleep Score Card, which was published by a company that works with D2C sleep and home solutions.

These conclusions were reached after six years of research involving over 2.5 million respondents, including 10,000 or more responses this year from March 2022 to February 2023, which includes respondents from all Indian cities, representing all age groups and demographics.
