BJP reveals initial list of candidates for Assam as Modi eyes for a Hat-trick , Parimal Suklabaidya to contest for Silchar, Kripanath Mallah for Karimganj.

In preparation for the upcoming General Elections to the Lok Sabha, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made a significant announcement, disclosing contenders for 11 out of the 14 seats in Assam. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking a historic third term, emphasizes the importance of this move as the party sets the stage for the electoral battle.

Vinod Tawde, a key figure in the BJP as the national general secretary, unveiled the initial roster of candidates, bringing added weight to the proceedings. The Barak Valley region, particularly the Silchar Lok Sabha Constituency, witnessed a pivotal moment with the party granting the ticket to Parimal Suklabaidya, the lone minister from Barak Valley in the Assam Government.

However, the absence of Dr. Rajdeep Roy, the incumbent MP from Silchar, from the list raised eyebrows, adding intrigue to the unfolding political dynamics. The announcement also highlighted the party's strategy in Karimganj, where Kripanath Mallah, the incumbent MP, is set to pursue a second term, despite recent delimitation changes that shifted Silchar into the SC (Scheduled Caste) category.

In a statewide move capturing attention, former Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal, emerged as a notable candidate, gearing up to contest from Dibrugarh. This revelation adds an intriguing layer to the unfolding political narrative in Assam.
