Silchar, Assam: In a major blow to the illegal drug trade, the Cachar Police, in collaboration with B/147 BN CRPF, intercepted a massive smuggling operation and seized a staggering 20,000 YABA tablets in Srikona, Silchar. The estimated street value of the seized contraband is a staggering Rs. 4 crore, highlighting the significance of this operation in disrupting a major drug trafficking ring.

Cachar Superintendent of Police, Numal Mahatta, led the operation, which resulted in the arrest of two individuals identified as Samsuddin Borbhuyan (30) and Samim Ahmed Borbhuyan (30), both residents of Rajnagar, Manikpur, Silchar.

"The successful seizure of this large quantity of YABA tablets demonstrates our unwavering commitment to combating illegal drug trafficking," stated SP Mahatta. "This operation will significantly disrupt the illicit drug trade in the region and ensure the safety of our citizens."

The Cachar Police have launched a comprehensive investigation to unravel the network involved in this smuggling operation. Their focus lies on identifying potential accomplices and tracing the origin of the seized tablets.

"We will continue to intensify our efforts to eradicate this menace from our community," affirmed SP Mahatta. "This joint operation with CRPF signifies our commitment to a collaborative approach in tackling drug trafficking. We will leave no stone unturned in bringing those involved in this illegal activity to justice."
